- Came into force: 12 October 2005
- Head Quarters: August Kranti Bhavan
- Sweden was the first country which implemented the Act
- Tamilnadu had passed the Act in 1997 (before it came at centre)
- The members of Central Information and State Information commission consists one chairman and members not more than 10.
